I am a self-indulged POSER

Yes, I am a complete poser. Literally, well,  maybe a little.

Lately, I have become mind obsessed with the App, Pose. Here, like pinterest, you can have a feed of your fav fashion-forward fits. Whats the point? Well, its super user friendly (bonus), you can categorize your styles, and....the outfit pictures come with dotted icons on each piece of clothing that allows you to purchase it right then and there. Research free! Inspirational perfection.

The Best part of Pose? You have access to see and purchase everything that Catt Sadler wears! Genius.

Click on the dots to see where each piece is from, then select the purchase shopping bag icon. Love.

Check out this ''stud''

I would first like to say how happy I am to be a part of DHH now!!! When Teresa informed me she wanted me to join in on this fab page, I thought.. well I am not wasting any time. I have to express whats on my mind right now!!! so im going to get right to the point! STUDS and SPIKES!!! while many of you may have already noticed this trend, it has got to be said. My love for these little guys is unhealthy. This is the best comback since the mustache! I want to stud everything I walk by, clothing, shoes, furniture, lamps, jewelry, headbands, seriously EVERYTHING!

For those of you who are a tad bit shy, here is a beginners item for you to ease on in to my world! You can chose, studs or spikes. (a bag at hot topic is like 6 bucks! ) and one super sassy collared top, sheer or not! most studs are easy to apply yourself and the spikes now screw on! WHAT?

The Animal in You

Fall is here! Fall is here! Well, sort of.  At least the season of fall is here.

Anyways, I'm completely loving leopard print this fall--no surprise. It easily makes an outfit pop with little to no effort.

Get your leopard onnnn....

Sometimes, It takes a lot of money to look cheap.

As economic instability creates turbulence, I have only become more creative on how to pursue versatile pieces.

Being a graduate student and a career driven civilian can ensue multiple issues when it comes to penny pinching. It is most challenging to find suitable clothing that fits an eloquent lifestyle while allowing you the flexibility to be a casual go-getter, simultaneously. However, being a Florida gal (and being limited to a very small selection of boutiques), I turned quite quickly to our most popular commercial stores.

When searching for a viable interview or career oriented outfit, go basic. Buy simple pieces that are perfect for mismatching, layering, and that will jazz up with a pop of color. Simple doesnt always have to be boring. Versatility is the name of my game!

Ive put this simple ensemble together below. Throw your hair up in a bun and pair with perfectly pink lips!

Fitted Trousser: These H&M babies are your affirmative defenses! Practically perfect for every body type. Not only is this classic, you can get away with wearing these weekly without getting caught!

Metalic Collar Necklace: As we discussed earlier..gold, gold, go-ld. Get on it! Simple, elegant or bold.

Metalic Polka Dot Blouse: Forever 21, not only am i deeming this print as the season's guilty gift, but metalic is perfect for nights out, days in and the holiday season. Its simple, adorable and an easy way to build on your outfit. Pair with a blazer or scarf.

Pointed Toe Heel: Target, Mossimo.  Wait for it...this shoe at Target it currently buy one, get one and they literally have a rainbow of colors to choose from (hot pink, to Neon, and blues!). Its classic, practical andddd you get two for the price of one!

Golden Girls

GOLD! GOLD! GOLD!

If your closet is taking a bare beating like mine is right now...then you're probably scrambling to find ways to make your old wear work into the new season.

Due to my lack of income, I have to find justice in purchasing versatile items. Hence, GOLD!

I think gold and black will be the go to colors this fall and holiday season...and lord knows, we ALL have bounds of black hidden is our ominous closets. I found it easiest to pair one gold accessory with a predominate black ensemble. And, Voila! Your boring black turns into classic chic! An eight dollar necklace can go a long way...

Check out my favorite ways to wear gold. Remember one piece of gold, and you're golden!

FALL FORWARD

Well, the summer season has officially softened into the fall sunset uprooting its scarves for winter solace.

I think this is the first year that I have not looked forward to fall. In fact, I am actually dreading the mystical season. Aside from the fact that Florida did not experience much of a fall last year, with the exception of light weight scarf adaptation, this is the FIRST Florida fall where I will not be able to afford the futile luxury to furnish my closet with new seasonal bliss. I keep trying to ignite my wise investment in an expensive private school..but im finding all reasons almost illogical at this point.

Since my bank account is way out of kilter with fall necessities, I found it necessary to share a few favorite fall fashion looks and predictions.. enjoy.

First, lets get the look!
Neon is here to Stay! While neon looks engulfed 75% of summer wear this year, the look will wildly continue into fall. However, sneaking it with rather subtle looks and bolder counter parts.

Check out this model at the DVF show this week. LOVE this neon top. Pair with black leather shorts and tights this season!

Here is a more subtle look from Top Shop, perfect for fall.

DOTS, DOTS, DOTS! They arent going away. Patterns alike are still sweeping the runway, which has made Karen Walker one of our Favorites! How adorable are these dots?

Of course, we cant afford these exact gems. However, Urban Outfitters is having their summer sale to clear the air for fall! We found this cute little number you can pair with textured tights, and a neon or patterned blazer...under 40 bucks!

Perfectly Pink...

First making a flawless appearance on Emma Stone, the pink and red duo have been around for almost two seasons now...and yet, we still love it.

Check out how we paired this look for Florida fun..

Pair with flats or a wedge, gold bangles and Waaaa-Laaaahhh.

Transition Tantrum

The summer months are slowly crawling closer to fall and its time to start selecting your summer transitional pieces! Our favorite, and most obvious, color for this times O' turning would definitely have to be red--and variations of the sort. Red revives the youth of summer, it can be worn in outfit neutrals or on your smackers. Its the versatile color of transition...

Embracing your hair color and skin tone is a MUST when using reds on your lips to make your palette pop. Remember our number 1 rule, if you play up lips, play down eyes!

Auburn/Brunette/blond- Pink Undertones.

I use Deep reds and pinks with blue undertones (blue makes your teeth look whiter). Think Berry, Cherries,  and true reds. Steer clear of orange-red but feel free to embrace coral (a more pink-orange).

Auburn/Brunette/Blond/Reds- Olive Undertone
Go crazy! You're a talent of reds! You can use burgundy shades, to tangerine red! Rock deep reds with purple hues--A La wine colored.

beachin' beauties

a dear friend was in town this past weekend to visit, and i thought i would share some fun shots of our trip.

in true floridian style, we headed out to the beach on an adventure abundant with great small town finds, like a local donut shop and a non-touristy section of the beach to relax on.

the night before, we had amazing drinks at local mandarin hide, a prohibition era styled bar.

enjoy!

Spare Your Closet: DIY mixed print tee

Modifying your wardrobe from whimsy winter to sassy spring has never been so easy! No need to spend your blue collared doe purchasing an entirely new wardrobe! Spare your closet! Check out phase 1!

Stripes and florals? Employ the fun of a quick mix and match with an easy diy striped tee.  Simply add a floral pocket, pared with  minimal sewing, and give a striped nautical shirt a great spring transformation!

Start by choosing a T-shirt, and then you will need a small swatch of fabric.  I chose to use the sleeve of a dress that I was planning on cutting into a tank dress, so that I would waste less fabric (and spend less money!) I used an old t-shirt.
(*tip: get creative - mix and match!)
